Concrete production started in Kyyjärvi.

Farmer Toivo Löytönen founds a concrete plant in Oikari, Kyyjärvi, and starts to produce traditional foundry products.

On the following picture the founder of the company, Mr. Toivo Loytonen, is returning from the authorities after delivering a sample of sand from Oikari in Kyyjarvi to ask for a license to produce concrete out of it.

1957 THE BUSINESS MOVES

In the new premises the effectiveness of the operations increased and the selection of products grew.

The normal day in family business. Toivo Loytonen is heating the fresh concrete units. On the back ground you can see the wife Julia with daughter Kaisa.

1970 PRODUCTION OF READY-MIXED CONCRETE STARTS

Growth in building sector and change of the whole building culture challenged the company to develop its processes to suit ready-mixed concrete production.

1978 MANUFACTURE OF PRE-CAST CONCRETE ELEMENTS STARTS

Manufacture of pre-cast elements was started mainly for the demands of agriculture. The Central Organisation of Finnish Concrete Industry (SBK) published in 1970 the Pre-cast Concrete Element Standards (BES) that regulate the manufacture of pre-cast concrete elements.

1984 NEW GENERATION TAKES OVER THE OWNERSHIP

New generation

A fine business idea and stable business enabled Toivo Löytönen's sons Hannu, Urpo, Juha and Reijo Löytönen to take over the ownership of the business in 1984.

1989 MANUFACTURE OF HOLLOW-CORE SLABS STARTS

The manufacture is automated

The 1980s was characterised by intense and persevering business development, which most prominently manifested itself in the growth of product selection. In close collaboration between manufacture and planning the manufacturing plant was developed and the manufacture of hollow-core slabs started in 1989.

1995 MANUFACTURE OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS AND SHELL PANELS STARTS

The competition for pre-cast concrete element deliveries for country's biggest building projects required that the competitive position was strengthened with new products. The manufacture of prestressed concrete beams and shell panels started in 1995. New stressing benches of the second generation based on new innovative design were built in 1999. The modern production technologies enabled the manufacture of the most massive concrete beams in Finland.

1996 A SUBSIDIARY COMPANY STARTS IN ESTONIA

On foreign soil

In 1996 Estonian AS Ikodor, which has a plant in Kärknä in the Estonian province Tartu, was founded. The company manufactures environmental concrete products, blocks of light weight aggregate concrete and blocks of concrete for the markets in Estonia and Baltic countries.

1996 LAATTA-BETSET IN NURMIJÄRVI

The new manufacturing plant strengthened company's competitive position in the markets of southern Finland.

1997 BETSET-BETONI IN VIIKKI, HELSINKI

The environmental friendly batch plant in Viikki district in Helsinki was completed in 1997. With the assistance of the newest technologies the environmental effects of our operations were minimised and quality control was maximised.

2000 KYYJÄRVI CEMENT PRODUCT BECOMES HISTORY

New name

In 1990s the product brand Betset was added to the company name, Kyyjärvi Cement Product. Betset became the official name of the company in year 2000. In this way the overall image of the extended corporation was standardised and the company moved to the new millennium as Betset Ltd.

2000 CORPORATION EXTENDS ITS BUSINESS TO HÄMEENLINNA

At Hämeenlinna plant we produce pre-cast hollow-core slabs, pre-cast shell panels and ready-mixed concrete. The central location of the plant strengthens the company's competitive position in the markets of southern Finland.

2005 "NORD ELEMENTTI" OPENED IN HAUKIPUDAS

By buying the third part of shares, Betset became a shareholders of precast reinforced production plant in Haukipudas. The new department (manufacture) building for hollow-core slabs. In old department continuing the shell panels production.

2006 THE NEW CONCRETE UNIT BUILD AT HAMEELINNA PLANT

The new unit gaurantee the quality of concrete delivery and also support our own hollow-core slabs production.

2006 LAATTA-BETSET BECAME A PROPERTY OF BETSET CORPORATION

The factory administrative system simplify and same time became more effective. At the same year under Mika Loytonen's guiding began the whole factory reorganization.

2007 THE PRODUCTION OF TT- AND HTT-SLABS BEGIN IN NURMIJÄRVI ON LAATTA-BETSET

In new department (manufacture) begin the production of ribbed slabs for construction projects on the South of Finland.

2007 "NORD ELEMENTTI" BUY "RAJAVILLE"

Nord Elementti Oy bought Parma Oy the Rajaville Oy business and also the brand name "Rajaville".

"Parma" became a shareholder of "Nord Elementtii" with 47.5 % shares. "Nord Elementii" brand name changed for "Rajaville". The new company "Rajaville" is going to work in Northen Finland and also find a new growth opportunities in northen Sweden and Norway.

2009 THE CHANGE OF GENERATIONS

In sprining 2009 Hannu and Urpo Löytönen children became company shareholders.

2009 BETSET COME OUT TO RUSSIAN MARKET (SAINT-PETERSBURG)

ZAO Betset began its activity in November 2009. In December 2009 the company bought a factory producing internal wall elements. The production began on the 11th of January 2010.
